You are here: Parents / Prevent Duty
Section 26 of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 (the Act) places a duty on Schools to have βdue regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorismβ.
The 2011 Prevent strategy has three specific strategic objectives:
Under the guidance of the Local Authority Barnwell School is committed to protecting children and young people from being drawn into terrorism by having robust safeguarding policies in place to identify children at risk, and intervening as appropriate. A programme of training has taken place to ensure that all personnel who work in the school are aware of signs which are a cause for concern and know the systems for correct referral.
