Learning another language provides us with the skills to:
· communicate with people in other countries
· learn about other cultures
· develop a more global outlook
· travel and experience other countries for leisure with the ability to understand and integrate
· travel and communicate effectively for business purposes
· have an enhanced skills set which is so essential in an increasingly competitive job market
We offer students the chance to study either French or Spanish from Year 7 onwards through to GCSE. Students opting for French or Spanish in Key Stage 4 will follow the AQA syllabus and are assessed at the end of Year 11 through four papers- Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing,
It is always useful for students to have a small bilingual dictionary at home to assist with homework tasks and additional learning, but there are also free online dictionaries available and many useful websites, which can support your child’s learning:
