Save time – register before you swim in Stevenage
Thousands of Stevenage residents are taking advantage of the Council’s free swimming offer for 16 and unders and 60 and overs, and are being encouraged to download the registration form on-line and complete it before they swim.
Everybody taking advantage of the free swimming in
Stevenage must register before they swim. Registering is simple and involves downloading the form on www.stevenage-leisure.co.uk or www.stevenage.gov.uk, and presenting the completed form, along with proof of eligibility, at the pool before your first swimming session. Registering costs just £2.
Under-16s can only take advantage of the scheme outside normal school hours.
Cllr Howard Burrell, Portfolio Holder for Children and Young People, Culture, Sport and Leisure, said “Registering using the online form saves time and is much easier than filling in forms at the pool. The form itself is very straightforward and will help people to gain maximum advantage from the free swimming.
“We asked some of our customers how we could best administer the scheme and they said they would rather register once to get a registration card than present ID each time they visit the pool. The registration card is issued as soon as the form is completed and checked against the ID by staff.”
“The pool was swamped at the end of last week by people who wanted to swim but needed to register, and we want to make sure that residents spend more time swimming and less time filling in forms.”
