Governors

School governors are members of a school's Governing Body, they have responsibility for raising school standards through their three key roles of setting strategic direction, ensuring accountability and monitoring & evaluating school performance.

The governors have three committees, plus a steering group.

  1. Achievement
  2. Environment
  3. Community

The committee's have five rounds of meetings each year followed by the Steering Group and then the Full Governors meeting's.

The Full Governors Meetings include members of the Senior Leadership Team,  student representatives from the Student Council and students from Sixth Form.

Contacting the Governors

The normal channels for parent consultation with school are through the Headteacher or his representative, although in most cases parents should contact the Form Tutor or Head of Year in the first instance. Governors can make themselves available for consultation with parents if required but it is normally advisable to ensure that matters requiring the attention of the governors are first taken up through normal channels within the school.
