Curriculum

We aspire to a broad and balanced curriculum which is tailored to the needs of individual learners.

KS3

Students at Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) follow the National Curriculum, We offer skills-based learning across the range of subjects, ensuring that students move beyond subject knowledge and develop the skills and strategies they need to improve their personal learning, as well as thinking skills and social & emotional literacy.

We have a strong focus on assessment for learning, so that our students know how they are doing, and what steps they need to take next on their learning journey. Designated reading lessons support literacy development throughout the Key Stage.

Please see the adjacent picture for KS3 Curriculum breakdown by subject.

KS4

At Key Stage 4 (Years 10-11) we offer a range of pathways, traditional, applied and accelerated in style, comprising a spread of vocational and academic course options. We work hard to guide learners to a personalised choice which offers them the best individual prospects of success as well as a balanced curriculum offering personal fulfilment and stimulation.

KS5

Our large and thriving Sixth Form centre has one of the widest ranges of courses on offer anywhere in the County, and we work closely with other education providers in the town to make sure that all students can find a combination of courses which takes them forward on their learning journey, whether that be working towards university or college entrance, further vocational training, or employment.

Full details of courses in the Sixth Form consortium are available on the Stevenage 14-19 Partnership website.
