Learning Resource Centre
Both West and East sites offer a fully stocked Library that supports students learning in a variety of ways. The Centre’s Librarians are a strength to the schools commitment to Learning and are always on hand to give help and advice.
Each centre loans both fiction and non-fiction titles which are regularly updated as well as offering students the opportunity to use PCs for research and Extended Learning at break and lunch times.
The LRC’s also offer a variety of other support including:
Extended Learning Club
Both LRC’s are open from 3:00pm to 4:00pm every evening for students to get help with their Extended Learning. Teaching Assistant Support is available on both sites.
Girls PC Club: held on East site Thursday’s 3:00pm – 4:00pm.
Scholastic Book Club: where students can purchase new release titles.
Special Events: World Book Day, Book Fairs, Poetry Readings, Competitions.
Richard & Judy Book Club: Recommended reads including The Visible World by Mark Slouka, Then We Came To The End by Joshua Ferris.
LRC Recommended Read:
The Story of Stone by N M Browne
Nela and her father are on an expedition to an ancient lake where they find a mysterious black stone. Every time Nela touches it she has visions of a girl from a different time named Stone.
Emotionally intriguing, you will find this book hard to put down!
