Barnwells' Houses
Barnwell has five houses within vertical tutoring. Each house is led by a Head of House (HOH) who is accountable for the overall pastoral welfare of students, the successful operation of the tutorial system, communication with students, parents, external agencies and senior teachers.
Each HOH leads its house group to set a strong and distinctive sense and distinctive sense of 'house spirit'. They work very closely with each Form Tutor in their house group and are themselves subject teachers.

Ambassadors and House Captains
At Barnwell we strongly value the opportunity to develop our students as leaders. We have introduced the privileged positions of Barnwell Student Ambassadors and House Captains. These are important positions of responsibility that require students to take a full and active role in the life of the school.
