School Clubs
Whilst clubs vary during the year, the following are the sort of clubs likely to take place:
MUSIC CLUBS
Musicians offer concerts, workshops and presentations. Music is offered in variety of forms:
- String Orchestra
- Choirs
- Staff Choir
- Orchestra
- Mixed Ensembles
ICT & LEARNING RESOURCES CENTRE
KS4 pupils have open access to the ICT resources at lunchtime and after school. A booking system is in place for KS3 pupils to reserve a workstation for essential learning, research and use of the Internet.
In addition there is a dedicated area in the Sixth Form Study Room which provides networked workstations for the sole use of Sixth Form students.
The Learning Resources staff are available to support any pupil / student during break, lunchtime and the after school session.
DRAMA CLUB
Rehearsal and performance for those who wish to take Drama to presentation level. Regular drama workshops and theatre visits are an established feature of the extended curriculum.
ART CLUB
Held one lunchtime per week for those interested in developing their skills and interests.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Winter:
- Hockey, Basketball, Dance, Netball
- Badminton, Football, Trampolining
- Volleyball, Archery, Rugby, Judo
- Table Tennis, Gymnastics
Summer:
- Tennis, Cricket, Swimming, Rounders
- Judo, Athletics, Archery, Table Tennis
- Softball, Trampolining
Teams represent Barnwell in many activities. Annual events include skiing trips and visits to national sporting events.
