Uniform

Friday, 30th September 2011

Thank you to all parents and carers who have taken the time to feedback to the school following the recent changes to the uniform policy.

If you contacted the school you will have received a response to your individual concerns, however, please see below details on how the school has addressed some of the most common concerns.

Poloshirts

Many parents and carers felt that these were too expensive.

During the first term when we are ‘rolling out’ the new uniform policy it has been agreed that students can wear plain poloshirts.

We are negotiating with our suppliers and are hoping to be able to offer the poloshirts at a lower price.

We have also investigated the possibility of sew-on and iron-on logo badges. However, our research has concluded that this would be an expensive option therefore we have decided not to offer this option.

Coats

Some parents were concerned about the safety of students wearing dark coats in the winter evenings.

The policy has been changed to include a discrete reflective strip on the coats.

We are also in contact with our suppliers to purchase fluorescent sashes that would add additional protection for the students.

Second-hand Uniform Shop

In response to requests from parents our Business & Enterprise students are busy setting up a second hand uniform shop. We will let you know when this is up and running.
