Local Basketball Team Scores in Herts Youth tournament.

On Saturday 10th May, Team Stevenage came 3rd in Boys Basketball for the County Hertfordshire Youth Games. They collected their medals from Superstar athlete Collin Jackson. Jordan Barker and Liam Ayton (Barnwell Year 7) were the stars of Coach Mark Wright's team; an amazing achievement. Not to be out done the under 11's junior team have won the county league for their age group and Mark is looking to play under 14’s next year and possibly even national league the year after. With 2012 not too far away who knows where it may all lead!

Mark Wright has been working in our consortium of extended schools for 2 years and in that time has created a real enthusiasm for Basketball in the students. Not only does he work in individual schools but he also hosts a basketball club on a Monday evening at Barnwell School West campus from 5.00-8.00.
