Barnwell School has now appointed Ms Carter as the Reading Assistant
She would like to express the importance of reading for secondary school students.
"Reading is the most important skills a child can attain from school and it will influence your child's success in all other subjects. I know from my own experience how difficult it can be to ensure teenagers keep reading and our intention is to offer as much help and support as possible to keep your child reading.
We will be introducing a new reading programme to Barnwell very soon. Our aim is to encourage and instil good reading habits. As part of this scheme I hope to be offering you regular tips via Bytes and online to help you play your part in supporting your child's reading at home. At school I will be working both in the classroom and Library enthusing and advising students. I look forward to this exciting new challenge and I know that your children will benefit from this immensely."
Reading Tip of the Week
Leave all sorts of reading materials including books, magazines, catalogues in conspicuous places around your home.

Killer Camera
This story is a horror story about a 14 year old boy who buys his dad a camera from the car boot sale for his 50th birthday. He soon finds out that whatever he takes a picture of either breaks or dies!
A good spooky story!
